Ethnographic collection

The ethnographic collection has been accumulated since the museum was founded in 1925. It contains over 3,600 exhibits from the 19th - 20th century. The collection consists of sacral collections of wood sculptures, ceramics, fabrics, clothes, footwear, furniture, household items, work tools, musical instruments, and metal cross tops.

Here are also stored three crosses of Vincas Svirskis, the famous Lithuanian maker of holy tems of late 19th c. - early 20th c.

Most of the exhibits of the ethnographic collection were collected in Panevėžys County and reflect the ethnic uniqueness of this region.
